Overview | Search
The KDE Support module is a loose collection of software developed primarily by KDE developers and used by KDE. Currently, this software consists of:
- Akonadi, an extensible cross-desktop storage service for PIM data and meta data providing concurrent read, write and query access. For more information, see the Akonadi home page.
- Decibel, a realtime communications framework, integrating services like CTI (Computer Telephone Integration), VoIP (Voice over IP), text based chat and instant messaging. For more information, see the Decibel home page.
- Eigen, a C++ template library for linear algebra: vectors, matrices, and related algorithms. For more information, see the Eigen home page.
- KDEWin32, a POSIX compatibility library for KDE-on-Windows. For more information, see the KDE-on-Windows home page.
- Polkit-Qt, a Qt-styled API that allows easy and integrated usage of PolicyKit in Qt/KDE applications.
- Phonon, a cross-platform multimedia framework that makes it easy to use audio and video content in Qt applications. Phonon is also released with Qt (since Qt 4.4). For more information, see the Phonon overview document on the Qt documentation site. The documentation for the version of Phonon included with the last release of Qt can also be found there.
- QCA, a straightforward and cross-platform crypto API, using Qt datatypes and conventions. For more information, see the QCA home page.
- QImageBlitz, an image effects library.
- Soprano, a library which provides a highly usable object-oriented C++/Qt4 framework for RDF data. For more information, see the Soprano home page.
- Strigi, a fast and small desktop searching program, including a daemon to do the actual searching and analysing (without hammering the system) and a library to access the results. For more information, see the Strigi home page.
Visit the development section of KDE Techbase for tutorials, architectural overviews and other useful information.
- Maintainer(s):
- Each project has its own maintainers.
- License(s):
- See the pages for the individual projects. Most libraries should be LGPL or under a more permissive license.
